Aloha, welcome ‘ohana, dear extended family!  We’re now open for your overnight visits to the Kalani Kai coastal 94 acres, also known as Ulu Kai and, in the area where I live, KALANI Ocean Vista Art Farm.  Now while volcano goddess Pele is in prolonged rest, there’s opportunity to explore her awesome creations, such as the new expanses of beach at Pohoiki and Kapoho.  We’re back to clear air, spectacular night skies, fun farmers’ markets at Maku’u and Kalapana, deep blue Kehena bay, expanded gardens and abundant area activities, including yoga, figure drawing, ecstatic dance, massages, and volleyball!  In fact, about 10 of us never left the property.  We just stayed, maintaining and improving the land and facilities.

Welcome to Ulu Kai!
We are a permaculture farm rooted between the ocean and lush tropical forest, just four miles from the 2018 lava flow here on the big island of Hawaii.
Come stay in one of our eco-cottages and enjoy a meditative, tranquil environment. Each 450-500 square foot cottage is a stand-alone unit set into a gorgeous landscape with views of the ocean.
Guests have access to free WIFI and walking trails to explore native plants and ancient Hawaiian cultural sites. Swimming at Kehena black sand beach is only a mile away.
Cottages are set up with
     1 king or 2-3 twin beds (your preference)
     Memory foam mattresses, sheets and towels
     Private bath/shower
     Mini fridge
     Ceiling fans, screens, and warm Hawaiian breezes, (no air conditioning). ​

​Cottages can accommodate up to 3 people. We are currently offering an introductory cottage rental rate of $100/night for one or two people, $150/night for three people. 
(Plus 14.25 % Hawaii state and county taxes, and a $40 cleaning charge.)
